#4437 - (44¢) Liberty Bell - ATM booklet single

Though it did not receive its common name until the 1830s, the Liberty Bell has been a symbol of American freedom since its commission in 1752. The bell had been recast twice due to previous cracks, and the final crack was created whilst tolling in honor of George Washington’s birthday. Though unable to properly ring again, the bell is still tapped 13 times every Fourth of July by descendants of the original Declaration of Independence signers. Scott 4437 Liberty Bell
