1944 Mint Never-Hinged Charity Set of 4
During the war, Germany occupied parts of Yugoslavia and controlled the Independent State of Croatia. Numerous attractive and colorful stamps were issued during this period, including this set to benefit communications and railway employees. The art deco designs show transportation and communications symbols including the winged messenger Mercury.
