Similar to Baseball, but played on a smaller field with a slightly larger ball, the game of Softball was invented in Chicago in 1888. Two main variations of the game exist, slow-pitch, where the ball must arc on its way to the batter, and fast pitch where the ball is thrown much faster to the batter. Softball was added as an Olympic sport in 1996 but it was removed, along with baseball, after 2005. Scott 2962 Softball
