In an effort to honor members of the US Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force who are either Prisoners of War or Missing in Action the USPS issued a 32¢ commemorative. These brave soldiers, sailors and airmen were either captured by the enemy during times of war or lost in action. The National League of POW/MIA Families was established in the late 1960s in an effort to provide support to families that had lost a loved one and to draw attention to the plight of American service members registered as POW or MIA.
