#4502 - (44¢) Neon Celebrate

The very idea of creating a neon stamp was an exciting, though monumental challenge. Artist Michael Flechtner created the design with super-heated glass tubes filled with a variety of gasses to create the vivid and striking colors used in the letters and firework shapes. The idea of using fireworks in the stamp was chosen because according to Flechtner, “...fireworks, with all their color, light, and motion, was the embodiment of a celebration.” Scott 4502 Neon Celebrate
