#1897 - 1¢ Omnibus - coil
Public bus lines began continuous operation in the early 19th century. Early horse-drawn buses, such as the one depicted, were a combination of a hackney carriage and a stagecoach. In many urban areas electric trolleys were preferred until the mid-20th century, when the use of full-size engine powered buses became widespread. Scott 1897 Omnibus
