2¢ Washington - US #210 Unused
Save 40% off this 1883 Unused Stamp!
With a reduction of the basic postage rate in 1883 from 3¢ to 2¢, the U.S. Post Office issued a new 2¢ stamp to meet the decreased rate. Picturing the same bust of Washington that had been used on the earlier green 3¢ stamp, this stamp was printed in a red brown shade to avoid confusion. However, this stamp had a relatively short life when its color and the colors of other common values in use at the time were changed in 1887.
This unused 2¢ issue may have minor imperfections such as disturbed gum, a bend or a straight edge, but it will be an attractive stamp with fine or better centering and a welcome addition to your collection - plus you save $20 off our regular price! And as always, your satisfaction is guaranteed. (US #210)
