2¢ Farming in the West - US #286 Unused

Save over 40% off one of America's most popular stamps!
Issued at the 1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition in Omaha, the 2¢ Farming in the West offered  a glimpse from pioneer days in the American West. Just before the photographer snapped this picture in Amenia, North Dakota, a gust of wind caused the farmer on the plow to grab his hat. For years the farmer regretted this unfortunate incident that prevented his face from appearing on a stamp.
