#1850 - 7¢ Abraham Baldwin
Abraham Baldwin was an American politician, Patriot, and Founding Father. Originally from Connecticut, Baldwin's father, a blacksmith, went heavily into debt to educate his children. Baldwin graduated from Yale College 1772 and became a chaplain in the Continental Army. Founder of Franklin College in Georgia and signer of the Constitution, Baldwin was also a supporter of slavery as the economic backbone of the South. Scott 1850 Abraham Baldwin
