#1851 - 8¢ Henry Knox

Henry Knox was a military man and close adviser to George Washington. Knox volunteered with the Boston Grenadier Corps at the age of twenty two and served under General Artemas Ward at the Battle of Bunker Hill. George Washington later commissioned Knox a Colonel with a command of a Continental Regiment of Artillery. After Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys captured 55 British Artillery pieces at Ticonderoga, Knox used the arsenal to lift the Siege of Boston, ousting the British. Scott 1851 Henry Knox
