Picturing the Pedro Miguel Locks in the Panama Canal, a model had to be used since the Canal hadn't been completed when this stamp was designed. The original design erroneously captioned it as "Gatun Locks", but the mistake was discovered before the stamps were issued and none of the error stamps ever reached the public.
